Corporate America Will Survive (and Thrive) Under Tyranny

The recent Patriot Act, Section
215 ruling, regarding NSA bulk data collection of all phone records, also came with a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) statement that teleco carriers Verizon and others chose to never even challenge the bulk collection orders:
“To date, no holder of records who has received an Order to produce bulk telephony metadata has challenged the legality of such an Order. Indeed, no recipient of any Section 215 Order has challenged the legality of such an Order, despite the ‘explicit statutory mechanisms’ for doing so.”
While the internet companies were being very vocal about the NSA surveillance efforts, there was a deafening silence from the likes of Verizon and others. In fact, it later came out that they actually ”volunteered” to share “our” information…way to fucking go assholes; thanks for the protection of our privacy “rights”- I know there’s a clause somewhere in my Verizon contract that “claims” you will protect such rights! Before filing suit, the tech companies reached out to the phone carriers to sign onto a letter asking the government to be more transparent; Verizon et al, “REFUSED TO SIGN”!
Specifically, Verizon Enterprise Solutions president, John Stratton, felt the need to be heard...I summarize the following as nothing more than a salute and a “yes sir” to that other president. First, Stratton mocked Google, Yahoo, and others by implying that they are like-minded with Verizon, but were only “grandstanding” under the guise of “protecting the privacy rights” of their customers – yeah, suing the government is fucking “grandstanding” to him…I see it as customer service; even if the fix is in – they, at least, gave it a shot and customers like us will be hard pressed to bitch at “them” in the likely event the court rules against the internet companies on this issue!
Then he imitated that Verizon had no option, they were “required” to hand over the records “for the sake of national security”. This fucking guy is in the wrong business…if he “knows” what issues are national security issues, then perhaps he should be appointed by Obama to a National Security position…those asshole, quisling fascists only know that “national security issues” are whatever issues the supreme commander wants to hide under that umbrella…This next statement, I conclude, is “Stratton’s version” of what it means to be a Patriot:
"There is another question that needs to be kept in the balance, which is a question of civil liberty and the rights of the individual citizen in the context of that broader set of protections that the government seeks to create in its society."
……it gets better; later, when faced with a much broader demand from the government, seeking info on every single phone call: Verizon and these other “true-American” corporations, with visions, I’m sure, of perhaps, in the future, obtaining a Cabinet post to the new “State Communications” Agency; again rolled right over and saluted! Verizon/Stratton are a perfect fit for this regime that took over our country…lying isn’t a mere “second thought” to them…they “automatically” come right out with the fucking party line... Contrary to Stratton’s claim that “he had no choice”; in the FISC ruling, they went out of their way to make it perfectly evident, that Verizon had a “clear legal path to appeal”, in order to make sure that the privacy of their customers was being protected. But they didn't do that…I’m sure they were forward thinking to a New World Order future...where there is no such a concept as “customer service”!
This piece of shit, it seems, just can’t help himself…he had even more to say:
“as a company, Verizon follows the law, and those laws are set by governments”
"The laws are not set by Verizon, they are set by the governments in which we operate. I think it’s important for us to recognize that we participate in debate, as citizens, but as a company I have obligations that I am going to follow."
Remember when one of the primary "obligations" of these types of corporations was to protect the privacy of their customers…yeah, poof; that way of thinking? Fucking gone! And again, it was to my surprise that “the court” noted, Section 215 allows Verizon to challenge these orders and make sure they are appropriate. Verizon doesn’t see it that way…why would a court rule against what Stratton “knows to be” action taken as a matter of national security?!? Like I hinted at earlier…if Verizon had challenged, and then lost in court, they would have had little recourse other than to hand over the information, as ordered by the tyrant-in-chief…BUT, you don’t pull the covers off your bed-mate if you want to continue “gettin some” every night…right? Well, Verizon is the same way...they wanna keep gettin some; even in the event of a New World Order!
